CASA Writing Across Curriculum |

The College is committed to the principle that writing skills are a vital part of the higher education experience. Effective writing skills do more than improve a student's GPA: effective writing improves job performance. And the skills developed through writing go beyond grammar and composition. Writing skills develop critical thinking, problem solving, organization, and logical reasoning. These skills will serve students throughout their lives--both in their careers and in their roles as citizens. The College's WIC innitiative recommends that each academic program designate at least one course as writing intensive. However, for writing to be most effective, it must be practiced consistently. We therefore encourage writing as a part of all courses in the College. That each course in some way supports writing competency is the ultimate objective of the Writing Across the Curriculum initiative.Below are some links to pages describing the principles of WIC and other related topics.
