Lukes Receives First Community Service Award

Dental Hygiene Assistant Professor Sherri Lukes (unmasked in insert at left) received the College’s first Community Service Award, principally for her volunteer work with migrant farm workers in Southern Illinois and, with residents of small villages in rural Mexico.

Professor Lukes also is an active church member and a member of the board of directors of the Baptist Children’s Home in Southern Illinois.

Because of Professor Lukes widely-recognized service to the community, CASA Dean Paul Sarvela said, “I don’t believe the status of the award could have been more solidly affirmed than by the selection of Professor Lukes as the initial recipient.”
